Terms of Service
Short, fair, and in plain language. Last updated: 19 July 2026.
1. What Cognito is
Cognito is a free study workspace (web and apps), made by RNSDevs: two students building this as a portfolio project. You may use Cognito for your own studies; that's all we ask.
2. Your account
You're responsible for your login details and whatever happens through your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or have permission from a parent/guardian). One account per person is enough.
3. What's not allowed
Don't use Cognito to harass others, overload the service, bypass security, or share illegal content. We can remove accounts that do this without warning.
4. Your content
Everything you put into Cognito (notes, tasks, files) stays yours. We do nothing with it other than storing and displaying it for you; see the privacy policy. If you share something with friends or communities, that's your choice.
5. Availability and liability
Cognito is a free hobby/portfolio project. We do our best to keep everything online and working, but we can't guarantee uptime or error-free operation, and we're not liable for damages caused by the service (not) working. Back up anything that's genuinely important yourself (you can export via your settings).
6. Stopping
You can always stop: delete your account via Settings → Privacy and all your data is gone immediately. In an extreme case, we may discontinue the service; if that happens, you'll get advance notice and the chance to export your data.
7. Changes
We may update these terms as Cognito evolves. For a major change, we'll announce it in the app. Questions? Email cognito@rnsdevs.com.
